Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin is set to join Galatasaray, who say they are also in negotiations with Benfica over a loan move for Gedson Fernandes.
Yedlin’s current contract at St James’ Park is due to expire in the summer and he has decided to move early.
The 27-year-old is due to have a medical in Turkey on Sunday night and will then sign a permanent contract with Galatasaray.
The USA international joined the Magpies from Tottenham in August 2016, having made just one substitute appearance during his time in north London.
Yedlin had a spell on loan with Sunderland in the 2015/16 season and subsequently returned to the North East to join their rivals Newcastle on a permanent deal.
He has played 125 times for the Magpies in total, including 10 appearances in the current campaign, with his final outing for the club a 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United on January 12.
Fernandes could also be joining Yedlin at the Turk Telekom Stadium after struggling for regular game time at Spurs.
The 22-year-old joined from Benfica in January 2020 on what was due to be an 18-month loan move, with the option for a permanent transfer in the region of £43m.
But Fernandes has not started a Premier League game for Tottenham, with his only appearances this campaign coming in the Carabao Cup against Chelsea and in the FA Cup against non-league Marine.
Galatasaray are currently third in the Turkish Super Lig, behind their two main Istanbul rivals, Besiktas and Fenerbahce.
