A VILE beast has been arrested for allegedly raping his girlfriend’s 18-month old baby in a “horror” sex attack that led to her death.
Gabriel Robert Marincat, 25, was arrested by cops in Italy after the doctors said tot had been sexually abused and beaten.
Little Sharon Barni was rushed to hospital with serious injuries in the city of Bergamo in the northern region of Lombardy.
She was first discovered by her grandmother, who found the child unconscious and wearing a vomit-stained top.
Sharon died in hospital on January 11 after signs of sexual abuse were discovered by horrified medics, according to local media.
Autopsy results revealed signs of other injuries that had been clearly inflicted in the days previously and which had apparently not been treated.
An investigative judge who studied the report described it as “pure horror”.
Police then arrested Romanian suspect Gabriel Robert Marincat, 25, who was the boyfriend of the child’s mother.
On the day the child was hospitalised, the suspect had claimed that the earlier injuries were caused when the toddler pulled a heater on top of herself.

He said he noticed she was having difficulty breathing and had been sick when arrested by police on the orders of the Como Public Prosecutor’s Office who ordered an autopsy.
The forensics team said the medical report ruled out the possibility that the child’s previous injuries could have been accidental.
When he realised the police were looking for him, the suspect fled to his mother’s apartment in Lentate sul Seveso in Monza province, according to reports.
